I think it’s so important that your social media feed reflects your values and who you are as a person. Social media can sometimes be a toxic and negative space full of comparison and judgement. If this is the case for you and you feel drained or anxious after scrolling through your feed then start unfollowing and deleting anyone who does not lift you up or support your goals. I believe this is a form of self-care and one of the greatest things I have ever done for myself.

I want my Instagram to be a positive space and I want the people I follow to inspire me. Since I love all things mindset and personal development I make sure that the content I am consuming on Instagram reflects this. These are my absolute favourite accounts that lift me up and keep me on track with my goals:

Who speaks more: the voice of the critic or the voice of compassion?⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Years ago, my life was very much ruled by the critic. I was incredibly hard on myself for just about everything, and would berate myself for the tiniest of mistakes. And feeling my feelings? Oh hell no. I believed that feeling anything other than joy meant something was wrong with me.⁣ ⁣⁣ How I began to find my way back home to myself is when I paused and got curious about how I spoke to myself, where it came from, and whether or not it was useful and empowering. (Spoiler alert: 99% of it was neither useful nor empowering.)⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ With a commitment to learn how to love and accept *all* of me, I invited compassion to help me change my self-talk.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ When I would feel small, ashamed, or discouraged, I would invite a wise, gentle & compassionate voice to speak. She’d say things like:⁣ ⁣⁣ ✨ It’s okay to cry. It’s okay to feel sad. It’s okay to be upset. Always and forever: it’s okay to feel that way. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ✨ Rejection is redirecting you toward something more aligned. Keep going. Keep sharing your truth. I believe in you! ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ✨ Made a mistake? Sooo human. Let’s celebrate it! Mistakes are lessons in disguise. What are you learning? ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ✨ I see you. All of you. And I love what I see. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Hearing this compassionate voice felt uncomfortable at first, and I had a hard time believing her. AVOIDING FEELING | ANXIOUS? Makes the fear & anxiety higher.👇 . ✒@anxiety_wellbeing . 🎨@weewaaz 😊 . YOU'RE doing everything you can, that feels right. 'I won't do that because it makes me feel anxious, I'm actually quite fearful so let's not'. But what happens? It doesn't work! You end up with fear gaining some more of your life & avoiding is becoming difficult plus more anxiety comes with it. . 👉. A little anxiety is normal, a little adrenaline gives you that bit of a push to get through example: a job interview, quick thinking a bit of ability. So fearing a little anxiety because: we are talking about it & it now seems anxiety is something to be afraid of could scare you. Fear is a cause of anxiety! . 👉. Situations that cause anxiety to be high are for example Constant stress & fear Blocking emotions Hormone imbalance Poor nutrician Your body may need more of a vitamin or mineral Never stopping Etc. . 👆Causes your mind to sense a danger to you, sends a message to your adrenal gland to start stress hormones to be active & if your life is mostly the above, this causes anxiety most of the time. Causes👉by choices made by us & things we cannot control, & fear. . SO WHY? Why isn't avoiding/self-protection working? you're avoiding what causes you to feel anxiety. . Because if you avoid what you are afraid of its a signal to your mind that. 'Ok, we are avoiding what's fearful, that means it must be a true danger.' Danger =anxiety . Then whenever you think about what you're avoiding it feels worse. . The only way to get past the fear of anxiety. I.E FEAR of going out of socialising of food of ??? . Exposure. You think it will be terrible, so it FEELS fearful, anxious. That's why you get the anxiety. Once you've pushed through the feeling of anxiety. It gradually passes. . The stress hormones peak & then drop back down to normal levels. You'll feel tired but this is a message that says to your mind. . 'This is not a reason to start my stress response we are Ok'. . I’ve been doing a lot of guided runs lately.  It’s pretty much another human being yelling at you telling you to….. Run. ⠀ And I’ve really been enjoying HIIT runs.  HIIT training is when you do an intense burst of high intensity exercise (sprinting), followed by a period of rest (walking/jogging). ⠀ During one of my runs I was jogging waiting for the next sprint interval and the coach said, “Remember for your upcoming sprint, how fast you push, how hard you go depends on your rest interval right now.” ⠀ *Light bulb moment* ⠀ I need to rest to be productive. I need rest to be efficient.  If I want to get shit done, I need to rest. ⠀ It can be so easy to fall into the endless cycle of doing.  But achieving and doing never has an end.  And if we’re not mindful we can find ourselves burnt out on our own dreams.   ⠀ You do not need to earn your rest, love.  You are deserving of rest right now if your spirit is calling you to do so. ⠀ Rest is resilience. Rest is self love. Try this ❤️ ⁠ ⁠ 🎨@justgirlproject⁠ ⁠ HANDS UP IF YOU'VE EVER⁠ ⁠ Sent an impulsive text 🙋🏾‍♀️ Lashed out at a loved one⁠🙋🏾‍♀️ Bottled up your feelings⁠🙋🏾‍♀️ ⁠ Well, my friend, you are not alone. This is what happens when we struggle to tolerate difficult feelings instead of accepting the feelings and letting them be. ⁠ ⁠ Not making sense? ok, lemme explain…⁠ ⁠⁠ Acceptance means opening up and making room for painful feelings, sensations, urges, and emotions 🍃. We drop the struggle with them ⚓, give them some breathing space, and allow them to be as they are. ⁠ ⁠ Instead of fighting them, running from them 🏃, getting overwhelmed by them, we open up to them and let them be. This doesn’t mean liking them or wanting them, it simply means making room for them.⁠ ⁠ ⁠ When we do this we're able to make sensible choices based on our values and what's important to us, rather than our emotions. Once we learn to sit with difficult emotions we sort of get used to experiencing them. Once we get used to them they will no longer dictate our actions as we will no longer feel the need to do unhelpful things to get rid of them like sending impulsive texts, lashing out, avoiding things, drinking excessively, self-harm, gambling etc.⁠ ⁠ You don’t have to accept every single feeling. Acceptance is okay if and when it helps you to act on your values. It’s not about passively accepting your life situation. We must take action to improve our life situation as much as possible.⁠ ⁠ When you get the opportunity try to sit with difficult emotions instead of fighting against them or doing something unhelpful to make them go away.⁠ ⁠ 🗣❤️ I'm a Clinical Psychologist with an online clinic. Pains only purpose is to carry you back to love. 🌞 The most beautiful part about “struggling” – because to struggle is actually just another word for misalignment, discordance, attachment, an illusion or judgement from an underlying core wound or belief system of enemy patterning or victimhood – is that it’s working some much higher purpose through you. It’s always our toughest moments that are fueling our magic and Divine genius. They’re always cracking us open for more of our light to come shining through. As I always say, whatever you’re experiencing physically is a lot of times the opposite energetically when it comes to “lesser” or more uncomfortable physical experiences because the energy is always holding space for your highest and the physical is just showing you where the misalignment still lies to serve you and give you clues as to how to get back home – get back to the heart and the things you truly love. Your aches and pains are nothing but your gps – your guidance system just letting you know what still needs more of your grace and compassion to be brought back in to wholeness. Nothing more and nothing less. Just different information. You are the masterpiece and you are also the work in progress and it’s more than perfect to be both. Don’t underestimate the forces, the brilliance happening in the unseen even when you’re in moments of apparent struggle or pain.
